I’m Romilly, and my love for ceramics began in 1985 while studying in Hammersmith. After graduating from the Falmouth School of Art in Ceramics and Design, I was fortunate to be invited to the International Workshop of Ceramic Art in Tokoname, Japan. This experience introduced me to porcelain and the Japanese philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection and “throwing spirit” into the pot.

In 1991, I co-founded the Crouch End Art School (CEAS) with cabinet maker Paul Garrett. We offered classes in ceramics, fine art and sculpture, while also creating collaborative work in wood and ceramics. Influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement, I exhibited locally and at The Millinery Works Gallery in Islington. After Paul retired, I opened my own pottery school in Finsbury Park, where I continue to make and teach.
